Toekomstig project Marifish.Inc Oostende

Future project: Marifish.Inc Oostende

Marifish.Inc is developing an innovative ecosystem in Ostend for start-ups and scale-ups in aquaculture, mariculture, and the modernization of traditional fisheries. The company is helping to future-proof the Belgian fishing industry by accelerating the shift towards sustainability, new technologies, and a more diverse range of seafood products. Collaboration and co-creation are key.

These ambitions are taking shape in the redevelopment of the Vismijn site on the Eduard Anseelekaai, where a new 6,560 m² complex is under construction. It will offer infrastructure, laboratory spaces, and a seawater installation with high-capacity volumes. An existing borehole will also allow for onshore seaweed cultivation.

The site is evolving into a state-of-the-art incubator and living lab where SMEs can scale up their marine innovations into practical applications. Winlock will install two fire-resistant sectional shutters in Ostend, each offering 60 minutes of fire resistance (EI1 60). Both shutters require custom fabrication and will be finished with C5-coated panels and stainless steel fittings.

Thank you, Marifish.Inc and Willy Naessens Industriebouw!
