As a construction partner of SPIE, Cordeel Nederland is carrying out the civil and structural works for a new 380 kV high-voltage substation on behalf of TenneT. The substation consists of three buildings: two GIS buildings and a coupling building, including surrounding site finishing works.
TenneT is having this new substation built to connect the three 2GW offshore wind farms in the IJmuiden Ver Beta, IJmuiden Ver Gamma, and Nederwiek 2 wind energy areas. The wind energy generated by these (yet to be developed) wind farms will come ashore at the Maasvlakte and be routed through the converter stations to the Amaliahaven high-voltage substation, where it will be fed into the national high-voltage grid.
Winlock will install four fire resistant sectional shutters in Rotterdam, with a fire resistance rating of 60 minutes (EI1 60), suitable for external use (Out Lock) and offering burglar resistance (Safe Lock).
