IFF (International Flavors & Fragrances), a global leader in ingredients and biotechnology, operates a major biotechnology production site in Bruges that is still locally known as “the yeast factory”. At this site, enzymes are developed and produced for applications used worldwide, including brewing, bread production, animal feed, biofuels, textiles and detergents. Over the years, the Bruges facility has built strong expertise in industrial biotechnology and plays a leading role within the international IFF group. Within the company, science and creativity come together to develop innovative ingredients and solutions for products used every day around the world.
To support the further development of the site, the IFF facility in Bruges is being expanded. This expansion marks another step in the continued growth of the biotechnology activities at the Bruges site.
At this location, Winlock will install several fire resistant sectional shutters with a fire resistance of 60 minutes (EI1 60). Two of these fire-rated sectional shutters will be equipped with Frost Lock, a solution designed for environments where low temperatures play an important role. This further strengthens fire safety on site while ensuring that critical production processes remain well protected.
