Future project: VTT Bioruukki, Finland

VTT Bioruukki is a leading pilot centre of VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland in Espoo, where new technologies for the bioeconomy, circular economy and cleantech are developed and tested. The centre plays a key role in Finland’s ambition to reduce industrial emissions and scale up innovative, sustainable production chains.

As part of a site expansion, a new pilot facility has recently been commissioned to convert captured biogenic carbon dioxide into raw materials for plastics and chemicals. The facility, built from sea containers, brings together VTT, LUT University and industrial partners to develop technologies that can replace fossil-based raw materials with renewable alternatives. The project forms part of the Forest CUMP programme and supports Finland’s national carbon neutrality objectives.

At the Espoo site, Winlock will install fire-resistant sectional shutters with an EI1 60 fire resistance.

Thank you, VTT Bioruukki and Suomen Palo-ovi Tuotteet Oy.
