Hangar3920 will become the new beating heart for young people in Lommel. This future-oriented youth centre is part of a broader urban development and is designed as an open, safe and inspiring place where young people can truly be themselves. During the official start of construction, young people and youth workers described Hangar3920 as “a second home”, “a warm place for mental well-being” and “a space to relax after school”.
The youth centre will offer room for social and creative leisure activities, including workshops, concerts, parties and brainstorming sessions. In addition, organisations dedicated to supporting young people’s mental well-being will have a permanent base in the building. Hangar3920 is scheduled to open by the end of 2026.
At the Lommel site, Winlock is installing a fire-rated sectional shutter with a fire resistance of 60 minutes (EI1 60), equipped with a Noise Lock solution (36 dB). An additional sectional shutter with acoustic properties will also be installed (Noise Lock 47 dB), ensuring minimal noise disturbance without compromising on safety.
Thank you, City of Lommel and Driesen nv.
